About Natasha
Professional experience. Lived experience. One perspective.
My story
Quick version: I became a parent young, spent over twenty years inside an ADHD relationship, and just as long raising ADHD kids of my own. The long version involves a lot of arguments that escalated way faster than they needed to, and me slowly figuring out why.
I also lost my dad, for a complex number of reasons. It's shaped a lot of how I show up in this work.
If there's one thing underneath all of it, it's this: I have a big heart. That's really where any of this comes from.
With heart,
Natasha
How I think about this work
Recognise the pattern. Understand what's really going on. Know what to actually do about it.
That's it. That's the whole approach — whether we're talking about a relationship, a boundary you keep not setting, a reaction that felt too big for the moment, or something with your kids that you swore you'd do differently.
Understanding what's underneath doesn't excuse it. It just means you're finally solving the right problem, instead of managing the same symptom on repeat.
No guru answers here. No overnight fixes. Just compassion held together with accountability, and tools you can actually use.
What this is, and isn't
A Diploma in Mental Health. About a decade in homelessness and community services. Twenty-plus years actually living this stuff as a partner and a parent.
What I'm not is your therapist. What I offer is education, recognition, and practical tools — not diagnosis or individual treatment. If you need clinical support, a good therapist or doctor is exactly the right call, alongside anything you read here, not instead of it.
One more thing I believe strongly: understanding what's underneath a behaviour is never the same as excusing harmful behaviour. Compassion and accountability aren't opposites. I hold both, always.
Where to go from here
If any of this sounds familiar, my books and resources go deeper.
